If using the e-File version to file 1099s

  • No pre-printed Copy A or 1096 'red' forms to purchase when submitting those electronically.
  • Supports FIRE electronic filing.
  • Requires an IRS Transmitter Control Code (TCC) * Must apply to the IRS through their FIRE system to receive this code.
  • DIV, R & S forms must be printed on pre-printed forms.

1099-MISC and 1099-INT Copies

  • Option 1: Purchase standard pre-printed 1099-MISC or INT set and discard the extra 'red' copy A and 1096 forms which are e-Filed.
  • Option 2: Purchase 4-up blank sheets to provide recipient and payer copies. One sheet per recipient.

If using the Print Only version to file 1099s

  • DIV, R & S forms must be printed on pre-printed forms.

1099-MISC and 1099-INT Copies

  • Option 1: Purchase standard pre-printed 1099-MISC or INT set and print each copy.
  • Option 2: Purchase 4-up blank sheets to provide recipient and payer copies. One sheet per recipient. In addition, the IRS requires a pre-printed 'red' Copy A and 1096 when paper filing which can be purchased individually.
